Life at the Centre
Children live in dormitories according to age and gender groups. They are cared for by nuns who take turns and, to the children, every nun is a mother. Nuns sleep in the dormitory at night.
They are fed breakfast, lunch and dinner which they take at a central section of each dormitory. Fruits and light snacks are provided in between. Children are continuously under the protective eye, care and love of nuns.
At the age of three they are ready to go to kindergarten which is available in the centre where trained nuns are their teachers. There are two classes for ages 3 – 4 years and 5 – 7 years.
Primary health care is provided by a dispensary inside the centre and cases requiring advanced specialist attention are referred to the District Hospital where they are taken by the Centre’s bus.
Children and workers meet in the community hall every morning for prayers and at other times for social functions and festivals like Christmas. They go to the nearest church for mass on Sundays.
At CNCC every child is happy and relates to each other as brothers and sisters.
