Ernest’s mother was very sick when he was brought to CNCC in October 2007. She suffers from AIDS and lost her husband, Ernest’s father to AIDS, leaving behind five children. Stigmatized by relatives Petronila, Ernest’s mother, became even more ill and was unable to take care of him. A subsistence farmer, Petronila could hardly feed the five children, she opted to ask for help but she promised that when Ernest turns 7 years she will take him back home.
