Lucia joined CNCC on 24/01/2008 when he was only 4 months old. His mother Edwiga died in December, 2007.  Given Lucia’s young age his father Odenari, a poverty stricken farmer, was unable to provide care the young infant needed.  Odenari had two other children at home and the grandparents were too old and poor to help care for the new baby.  With the help from the local social welfare officer Lucia’s father pleaded with CNCC to provide Lucia with the care he needed to survive his first years of life. The father has promised to take his son back home when he reaches school age.
