John and Joseph
Birth date: 16th September, 2002
Four-year old twins are the fourth in a family of five. They arrived at CNCC in November 2006. Assisted by the Social Welfare Officer, their grandmother Helena, 70, brought the boys to CNCC to be cared for. Old age compounded with poverty made her incapable of fending for the boys. Both her son and the daughter-in-law died of AIDS-related illnesses in 2005. The couple was blessed with 5 children, who were left behind for Helena and other relatives to bring up. When John and Joseph arrived at the Centre they both suffered from constant nose-bleeds and were immediately put on medication. John and Joseph’s relatives, their aunt and grandmother visit the twins at the Centre regularly. They are happily willing to take the boys back home at age 7. |
