Naamini and Paulina
Birth date: 10th January, 2001
The six-year-old twins were among the first six children received at CNCC in September 2006. The twin’s mother, Nengai, a Maasai from Arusha, northern Tanzania died from bees stings leaving behind two helpless twins. The father of the girls disappeared after the funeral of Nengai. The local Social Welfare officer rescued the girls from their anguish and suffering and took them, at first to another Children’s Centre in Kikatiti not too far from CNCC. However, the Kikatiti orphanage takes care of older children so the Administrator asked CNCC to take in the twins. “They told us the children were 3 years old but we later discovered that they were in fact 6 years arriving highly malnourished and stunted”, explained Sister Caroline Samson. Naamini and Paulina and thriving today and under the care of a family from the local village. |
